Pablo Zabaleta has laughed off suggestions he is planning to retire at the end of this season.The Argentinian right-back is 34 in January and speculation had been growing that he may be looking to hang up his boots.2

Pablo Zabaleta has no plans to retire in the near future

Zabaleta joined West Ham on a free transfer in June 2017 and his deal at the club is due to expire in the summer.He said: For me, I dont want to be selfish. I just want to think about the team to do well first and then, at the end of the season, well see what is the best for me, for the club and for everyone.I will try to be 100 per cent about that decision but I will continue playing. There was something in the papers saying Zabaleta is thinking about retiring and let me tell you that is absolute rubbish!2

Im 33 and Ill be 34 in January but physically I feel very well. I am playing in every game and I hope I can continue like this and be injury free.If I can go for a few more years or at least one more season in the Premier League, this is what I wish because its a league Ive been in for a long time and especially because I am enjoying my time at West Ham. Zabalata has made 50 league apparances for West Ham since signing from Manchester City.At City, he won two Premier League titles, the league cup twice and the FA Cup during a nine year spell.
